The 3 Piece Suit - It's More than just a vest

Some people think that a Men's 3-Piece Suit is just a 2 piece suit with a vest added to it. Technically that may be true but a 3 piece suit is much more than that. Way back when. A proper suit was not even worn unless the man was wearing a vest underneath. It was considered unseemly for a man to have his dress shirt exposed in that manner if he was to be fully dressed. Now whether the man wore his suit with a matching vest or a contrasting pattern fabric vest was up to him and the fashion of that day. One thing was crystal clear. The 3 piece suit these days is now only made of matching suit fabric and gives a much different impression than an identical suit without a vest included. It almost is like a more proper appearance because the vest on a 3 piece suit will give the wearer a more business like attitude and demeanor that just doesn't come with a 2 piece style suit. If you show the two men side by side wearing the same style suit but one of the men is wearing a 3 piece suit, you will quickly notice that the man wearing the suit without the vest doesn't look quite as serious as the man wearing the suit with the vest.
